Natalie Portman Confirms ‘Love and Thunder’ Will Use Jane Foster’s Story From The Comics

When Thor: Love and Thunder was revealed at SDCC last year, comic fans immediately began to wonder if the movie would tell the cancer side of the Jane Foster story. In the comics, Jane was dying as cancer when she became Thor and the twist was every time she turned into Thor it nullified any of the cancer treatment she’s gone through. Now we have confirmation that the cancer story will apparently make its way into the MCU version of Jane Foster’s story.

Natalie Portman made the revelation in an interview with Yahoo:

I can’t tell you that much. I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is. I’m trying to think — it’s based on the graphic novel of the Mighty Thor. She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side.

Of course fans are now wildly speculating about how Jane got the cancer, with some wondering if it could’ve been caused with having an Infinity Stone inside her during Thor: The Dark World.
