Disney+ Announces a Clone Wars Sequel Series ‘The Bad Batch’
Based on the final season of The Clone Wars and the episodes with The Bad Batch, this makes a lot of sense. Disney+ today announced a new animated series set after the Clone War focusing on that group of clones. The existence of this series was first broken by First Order Transmissions.
The Official Star Wars Site has this description:
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.
Of course Filoni will be an executive producer on the show, and it’s being made by veterans of The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Resistance. The Bad Batch will debut sometime in 2021 on Disney+. This is likely one of the many announcements they had planned for Star Wars Celebration next month…
