Aquaman Joins Fortnite
Long running rumors were confirmed this morning when Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 launched, and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is indeed the featured skin of this season’s Battlepass. Unlike previous DC collaborations, where you could just purchase the skins you’ll need to unlock Aquaman via weekly challenges just like Deadpool in Season 2.
These challenges unlock over the course of weeks, so it’ll be a little while until everyone is running around as Arthur, and like Deadpool there will be additional challenges to unlock things such as his Trident Pickaxe (in Week 3), a loading screen, a spray, and a “Supreme Shell” back bling.
Like Deadpool before, the challenges to unlock Aquaman won’t be that difficult to do, and also like Deadpool he’ll have multiple skins. There’s the classic costume from the movie as well as the shirtless version. Later in Season 2 they added the X-Force Deadpool skin, so it’s possible they’ll do something like that for Aquaman; perhaps his Justice League armor.
Season 3 of Fortnite is live now, and in order to unlock the challenges to unlock Aquaman you need to purchase the Battlepass. As normal that’s $10/$20 depending on how many tiers you want a jump start with. Perhaps there will be other DC skins coming soon? When they did Deadpool they added X-Force later, so maybe we’ll be seeing Mera or Ocean Master skins later in the season?
