Rumor: Ben Affleck Will Direct ‘The Batman’
When Ben Affleck was cast as Batman, many people were hoping that he would direct a DC movie…and he may end up doing so. While the internet laughed when Affleck was cast, people who know what they’re talking about realized it was a good thing based on the movies he’s directed. That side of things could be a huge plus to Warner and the next standalone Batman movie.
According to Latino Review, the 2018 release of “The Batman” will be directed by Affleck:
“Yes, the Ben Affleck project Latino-Review previous reported is still a go, aiming for November 2018 now. Chris Terrio, who has writing credits on Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and has been announced as a writer for both Justice League films will write the movie for Ben Affleck to direct himself in. It’s still called The Batman, and it still sounds like it could be amazing.”
Affleck has directed three movies, Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Argo. The third one Best Picture. The Town is what showed he was the right choice for an older and more experienced Bruce Wayne, and the tone of that movie would work really well in a standalone Batman movie. Hopefully this ends up happening.
