One of the biggest surprises in Spider-Man: Far From Home was J.K. Simmons reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the MCU. The mid-credits scene was kept top secret and even when it leaked from early screenings some people didn’t believe it until they saw it. Now, it sounds like we might be seeing more of Jameson in the future Spider-Man movies.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly they asked him if we could expect to see more of him in Spider-Man 3, and while he tried to deflect by saying “I don’t know if I would use the word expect” he did say that they have him signed on to do sequels (although they don’t have to use him). And yes, they said “sequels” as in multiple movies.
There have been rumors that J. Jonah Jameson would appear in some way via a cameo in Morbius (possibly just on a TV somewhere), but this interview is the first confirmation that Sony does plan to use the character more in their little corner of the MCU. JJ being the connection that ties Sony’s SPUMC movies to the Marvel Spider-Man MCU films would be a pretty cool idea.
