The news DC fans have been waiting a long time for appears to be confirmed. Henry Cavill and his people are now in talks with Warner Brothers for him to return to the role of Superman!
It was revealed tonight via The Wrap:
Two years after departing the role, Henry Cavill is in talks to once again portray Clark Kent/Superman in films based on DC Comics, multiple insiders with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap.
The extent of Cavill’s return to the role — whether just for additional work to be done for the upcoming “Snyder Cut” of “Justice League” or for appearances in future films — has not been disclosed.
Although Deadline claims it won’t be for a standalone film (yet):
We hear Cavill could come back in a couple of different ways, not a standalone film, but there are plans to put him back in the big red cape again sources with knowledge tell us.
This was speculated last week when Cavill appeared on Zack Snyder’s watch party of Man of Steel, and now it looks like it’s going to happen. Hopefully after whatever movie he appears in next we do get a sequel to Man of Steel.
