It seems like every month or so there’s another article out there claiming that the popular internet fan-cast for Reed Richards and Sue Storm is going to be a reality. Fans really want to see John Krasinski and Emily Blunt leading the big screen reboot of Fantastic Four, but right now that appears to just be fan-casting and not real yet.
Krasinski told ComicBook.com that while he’d love to be in Fantastic Four, he hasn’t been contacted about it by Marvel:
“I would love to do it. I think to be a part of the Marvel world would be amazing anyway, and the fact that people would even consider me for that level of a part would be amazing. I genuinely have had no conversations or don’t know anything that’s happening with that. I’m awaiting Kevin’s announcements of what the hell’s happening with that as much as you are.”
Krasinski was famously up for the role of Captain America, and apparently made it far enough to try on the costume…until the buff Chris Evans walked by. Likewise Emily Blunt was originally Marvel’s choice for Black Widow. So both of them ending up in a Marvel movie would make a lot of sense seeing how Marvel wanted them way back in Phase 1.
