This week a rumor surfaced that a very popular Marvel villain appears to be destined for the MCU, and it isn’t hard to figure out where he might show up.
According to Daniel Richtman, M.O.D.O.K. is being planned for some kind of MCU appearance. This is apparently separate from the upcoming Hulu animated series. The only question is where he might show up, and it could be in Ant-Man 3.
Ant-Man director Peyton Reed is apparently a huge fan of the floating head. He told Heroic Hollywood in 2018 that they always talk about him:
“Not only have you mentioned MODOK but I will occasionally get texts from John Hodgman. He has long wanted to play MODOK. It’s his mission in life. He’s a huge Marvel Comics fan. John has been sort of lobbying for years “MODOK! MODOK!”. We always talk about MODOK because he’s maybe the most bizzarro character in the Marvel Universe.”
AIM was introduced in Iron Man 3, but we haven’t seen them for a long time. However, it appears they’ll be showing up again in Black Widow:
If Marvel is reintroducing AIM, and M.O.D.O.K. is being planned for the future, it likely means he’s going to be in something relatively soon. With Ant-Man 3 scheduled to begin filming sometime early next year, it’s very possible he could be the villain there based on Peyton Reed’s past comments about him.
