People who complained that Marvel films have “no stakes” certainly got their stakes in Avengers: Endgame with the deaths of some key Avengers; including Iron Man. Now those people who complained that the movies had “no stakes” are demanding the characters be brought back to life in some way. If a new report is to believed, we’ll see Tony Stark on screen one more time.
According to a Deadline report on the Saturn Awards from last night, Robert Downey Jr. appears in next May’s Black Widow:
“Robert Downey Jr.’s swan song performance as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in Endgame earned him the best actor in a film award. (Downey will be seen in the role of Stark one more time, however, in the Marvel prequel Black Widow in May 2020.) “
Robert Downey Jr. appeared in the SDCC and D23 Expo trailers for Black Widow, in a scene (likely deleted from Captain America: Civil War) where he tells Natasha to run. It’s not known if that’s in the movie or if his role is bigger than that one little scene we’ve already been shown.
