How Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Deals With Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame

When season five of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended, people wondered how the events of Avengers: Infinity War would affect the show, especially with the mention of Thanos. After all, the series has tied in with the major events in the Marvel movies in the past, such as the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Coulson finding the helicarriers used in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Today at WonderCon 2019 in Anaheim, the way the show will handle the Deciemation and the events of Avengers: Endgame was revealed, and it’s with three words:

One Year Later…

Season six of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. picks up one year after the events of season five and the two Avengers movies. In the premiere episode they screened for the convention, there really was no clue how things played out in Avengers: Endgame, although there was one sign it was a slightly different world.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was again operating in the open, driving around in vehicles with big S.H.I.E.L.D. logos on the doors, and the building back up of S.H.I.E.L.D. is something that played into the story of the episode with what Mac was doing as director. So something seems to have happened either in Endgame or immediately after to bring S.H.I.E.L.D. back as a legitimate organization.

Other than that, the episode didn’t really give away any clues as to what happens with the Avengers. The first episode of season six will air on ABC on May 10th.
