Ever since the big game spot for Avengers: Endgame released, a big controversy has arisen around what shield Captain America is using in the trailer.
Some very big comic book sites obviously don’t watch MCU movies because they proclaimed that Cap hasn’t been seen using a shield with straps on it since before Avengers: Age of Ultron where he had the magnetic shield. Except if these sites actually watched MCU movies, they’d know that his shield in Captain America: Civil War did not use the magnetic device and instead had straps:
Marvel actually produces a 1:1 replica of that shield prop for about $4,000 and you can get a good look at straps via that:
Some people were wondering if he was using the prototype shield mentioned in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but based on the TV spot it doesn’t look like that’s the case. The straps in the big game footage match the straps on the Civil War shield 100%. So that means it probably is the Civil War shield, but it’s not known if Cap has resurfaced the shield or not to remove the scratch marks left by T’Challa.
