Marvel Comics readers who’ve seen Ant-Man and The Wasp probably noticed some foreshadowing that was happening with Cassie Lang. In the comics, she has multiple identities from Stature, Stinger, Ant-Girl, to Giant-Girl. The movie set up Cassie as wanting to be a hero, and it looks like that was definitely intentional.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Peyton Reed talked about those scenes as seeds that were being planted for her MCU future:
“It was fun kind of planting the seeds, and seeing the spirit of Scott Lang starting to rear its head in his daughter,” Reed said. “That was intriguing to us, and I think Abby’s just really terrific.”
Previously it was heavily rumored that Emma Fuhrmann has been cast as an older Cassie Lang in next year’s Avengers 4. With them intentionally planting seeds for Cassie’s MCU future, it’s possible that casting is true and we’ll see a heroic Cassie as soon as next May.
