This Week’s Comics – 8/4/10

While last week had some pretty good books, the first week of August is a bit slower. Some of you may have wondered why we didn’t mention Amazing Spidey last week, or this week for that matter. Well, due to what Joe Quesada did to the Spideyverse in One More Day no self respecting comic fan would find themselves ever reading a Spidey book until things are set right. As the current storyline is revisiting that disaster (and just twisting the knife even more) you won’t see any Spider-Man book mentioned or reviewed here for the time being.

Brightest Day #7 – More White Lantern fun with what sounds like a cool Martian Manhunter detective angle.

Superman: The Last Family of Krypton #1 – If you ever wondered what would’ve happened if Jor-El and Lara accompanied Kal-El to Earth; this new Elseworlds tale will answer that.

Captain America #608 – It doesn’t matter if Baron Zemo is in this or not. It’s Brubaker and you will read it.

Secret Warriors #18 – If you haven’t checked out this series yet, you’re missing one of Marvels best books. Cap guest stars in this issue as well.

Marvel Universe vs. The Punisher #1 – All you need to know is it’s Frank Castle against the entire Marvel Universe. Oh yea, they’ve all been turned into bloodthirsty cannibals.
